Well this shoot was fun – I got to photograph three generations of women in the P Family. Aren’t they gorgeous? Feast your eyes…

M Family Bluebonnet Mini
Next up in our bluebonnet lineup – the M Family! Not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun with these kiddos. Big sister wanted to play in our lovely flower field and gave me some fantastic candid moments. And little brother’s eyes matched the bluebonnets – need I say more?
K Family Mini Session
Okay here we go with the bluebonnet minis! Ya’ll I am feeling super proud of myself for scheduling these mini sessions at a time when the flowers were SO beautiful. Maybe I have a future in flower prediction (is that a thing?). Ultimately though, it’s those kiddos that make the shoot. And what a precious turnout I had this year. Feast your eyes on the K family…
V Family Newborns
The V Family has welcomed their second baby (little girl G) to the world! I always love newborn photo shoots but this little one was just a delight to photograph. She was willing to pose, persevere through costume changes, pose again, get kisses from big brother, get moved around from here to there, and all the while POSE. What a sweet little trooper! Feast your eyes on the cuteness…
V Family Mini Session
Okay I might have a new favorite location. For this spring’s mini sessions, I went to the lovely brick walkway on South Blvd. Yes it is a median in a residential area. And yes, it is totally beautiful. I can’t get over the size of those oak trees! And of course it doesn’t hurt that the V Family is also beautiful :-). Little Knox is a pro in front of the camera (remember when he was this little?). We got a TON of photos in our short session. As always, V Family, it was a delight!
B Family in Hermann Park
It is finally spring in Houston! And along with the rising temperatures, we have had a sloppy month (which is good and bad for photo shoots – muddy locations but lovely light). The B Family was so gracious on a wet Saturday morning, trudging through Hermann Park after a heavy storm. And the resulting photos are just precious! Their son was totally ready and willing to interact with his surroundings, which made it a joy to follow him and watch his reactions through my lens. He was especially excited about the train, the ducks, the playground, and (best of all) his very own pup. Thanks so much for braving the mud with me B Family! Enjoy!
I’m about to be an auntie again!!
Last weekend, I had the joy of visiting my brother and sister-in-law to celebrate my niece’s sixth birthday. We had such fun and even managed to squeeze in a little maternity session because… my sister-in-law is about to give birth to a baby boy!! I am over the top excited to meet this guy. I told my sister-in-law that I am so thankful she keeps giving me little friends. My heart is so full of love for this family. Can’t wait to see this new fella’s face in just a few weeks!
H Family in the Hill Country
The H Family lives in Texas too! Everybody comes back ya’ll… it’s true. This sweet family lived for a few years in the arctic lands of Minnesota. It’s so great to see them back amongst the hills and the cacti. And these brave kiddos were more than willing to run and play in the dust and the grass (while expertly dodging thorns and ant beds). Their boldness out in all that beauty made my job easy. Thanks for spending the morning with me in Boerne, H Family!

What I like about Texas…
It’s funny what happens when you live somewhere your whole life – that place makes up the air you breathe. It seems totally normal, uninteresting, mundane. But when you leave, all of a sudden home becomes fascinating, interesting, worth talking about. During my years in St Louis, I tried to explain the beauty, nay the glory of my beloved Texas. I had a few enthusiastic listeners but they were outnumbered by the eye rollers (“you Texans“). But now that I am back in my home state, I am soaking in those things that seemed so mundane before. Here are just a few of the things that I have loved about Texas over the last couple of weeks…
